The 5 Minute Up-Do & a GIVEAWAY!

  Hey, guys!

Thanks so much for stoppin' by this lovely Tuesday mornin'. I'm super excited about today's post, because I get to share my GO-TO updo, as well as giveaway some super adorable Haddie Bands to TWO lucky readers!

Okay lets get started, shall we?!

All you will need is 1 hairtie, and a hairband! Thats it! Not kidding!

Start with second (or third) day hair. Take a teasing comb and bump up the volume at your crown. Embarassing "come hither" face optional.

Next, you'll want to section out some hair from your ponytail. Use the "tail" of your comb to pick how much you'd like to let out.

After you're sufficiently bumped & sectioned, gather your hair into a low ponytail. You want this to be very loose,so only wrap it around once or twice depending on the thickness of your hair.

HERE COMES THE FUN di-do-di-do (see what I did there?)

Grab your favorite headband, I chose this fantastic pink tribal band from Haddie Mae Designs!

Slip it over the top of your ponytail as shown, and using the back of your comb, make sure you bump up any volume you lost.

Next, split your pony in half to make it easier to bring into your headband. I love the elastic on the back of my Haddie Band, it keeps it secure in place, and its almost as if it was made for my favorite up-do!

Now you will start folding your hair up into your hairband. Make sure your hair tie is low enough that it is hidden inside the hairband.

This shows one side (on the right) very tightly tucked, and the left, tucked loosely. This all depends on what style you're going for, but I chose to continue twisting my hair into my hairband until it was nice and tight!

To finish off your look, simply twist your front pieces away from your face, and tuck into the rest of your hair in the back.and voila!

SO simple and easy, and it looks perfect with a little black dress for date night ;)

Ignore the fact that i'm holding my Birchbox! I just wanted you guys to see how stinking adorable the turban style haddie bands were!!

Do you want to win your own Haddie Band?! Of course you do! Lucky for you, the generous folks over at Haddie Mae Designs are giving away a Haddie Band to TWO lucky readers and it doesn't stop there! Head on over to haddiemaedesigns.com, and shop till you drop because they're offering 10% off
your entire order when you enter absolutelyarkansas at checkout! woo-hoo!

Entries will be allowed until February 21st at Midnight, with the winner being announced Saturday Morning. (February 22nd) Just follow the instructions in Rafflecopter below to win! (this giveaway has ended)

Tomorrow i'll have some super exciting news. I hope you'll stop by :)

Gluten Free Choco-Treats!

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Post Pebbles, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #PostWalgreens http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV.

Hello, readers! HAPPY MONDAY! I had such a lovely weekend, how about you? Lots of puppy snuggles & lovins' with my husband to be. The weather was FANTASTIC! I'm seriously almost afraid to say it, but could Spring really be on its way? (Oh how I hope!)

Today i'm bringing you a fun recipe sponsored by Post Cereal and Walgreens...

These little treats could not be easier! I was super excited to see that Post makes Gluten Free Cocoa Pebbles, too! A Heart Healthy, Gluten Free cheat meal? COUNT ME IN BABY!

First, head to Walgreens and pick up the following:

  • Gluten Free Cocoa Pebbles
  • 4 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tub of marshmallow creme

I know what you're thinking, Marshmallow Creme, whaaaat? I'm not kidding, it works SO much better than regular marshmallows! My treats turn out thick and fluffy with just the right amount of marshmallow "stick".

Turn your oven on low, and slowly melt your 4 tablespoons of butter. As it's melting, prepare a baking pan by buttering it and layering with parchment paper. Marshmallow fluff is sticky, ya'll! You'll be glad you didn't skip this step.

Once your butter is melted, mix in your Marshmallow creme until everything is melted and well blended. It will look like this:

YUM :) I may have licked the spoon...don't judge.

Remove from heat and mix in your bag of Cocoa Pebbles 1 cup at a time. When everything is well blended, transfer to your baking dish, and press down tight with a spoon. Refrigerate 1 hour and then....

Flip your pan upside down on a cutting board, and remove any leftover parchment paper. Slice into squares and try to eat one or two before your family devours them!

YUM :)

Don't forget to come by tomorrow, there's going to be a giveaway! Woo hoo!

Until Next Time,

xo, Kylie

Thoughts.

What's up giant picture of myself! So today's post will be short and sweet with just a few updates and thoughts. I'd hate for you to think i'd fallen completely off the wagon!

Okay first...i've been working hard on making some little changes around here. Everything should be completed by Monday...and I will have a super fun announcement about a wittle adventure i'm starting with this blog...i'm excited, y'all!

Second, my poor baby laptop just came back from the Hospital yesterday after spending weeks out of commission. No worries though, friends, the fine computer doctors fixed her right up so your regularly scheduled blog posts can start again next week. :)

Third, holy freaking freak. (It was a new years resolution to watch my mouth) When is winter going to be over? It seriously feels like it has been the longest ever ever ever ever. A "heat wave" is coming through our area this weekend (temps in the 50's...holla!) and i'm about ready to break out my bikini.

Fourth, I have an amazeballs giveaway scheduled for next week. Get excited.

Fifth, have you see frozen? I'm an adult and I love the shit out of that movie and cried my eyes out!

Sweetest movie ever! Anyways, i'm off to do work things, but I wanted to pop in to let you all know I still exist!

Talk soon :)

xo,

Kylie

Weekend Dump

On Second thought...this post title sort of sounds like i'm going to tell you about our bathroom habits over the weekend...oops.

Morning, Readers!

I don't know about you, but i'd like to shoot that groundhog on our next hunting trip. SIX MORE WEEKS OF WINTER?! I don't know if I have it in me, honestly. I'm so sick of mother freaking snow and being stuck in the house I might burst. Today is day two of pajamas, snuggles, and lots of hot cocoa. (Sounds horrible doesn't it) ha! I know it sounds like the life, but I can assure you, i'm not loving it at all.

The good news is we managed to get in a little fun this last weekend and since this blog was essentially started to my Gram Gram could see pictures of us out here...lets have a weekend dump shall we?

We started by CELEBRATING because we are officially 4 months down! Actually, it's 3 months 24 days now...but who's counting :)

After this picture I got started on our taxes, and then I realized we owed this year (for the first time in our lives) and I wanted to throw the computer through the window. So I stopped doing taxes.

This little cutie! In the 3 years this child has been alive, my parents haven't gone out for a date night ONCE! Not one measly little time. I said it was time for a sleepover, so he came to "dissy and dats" (sissy and Jake but somewhere along the line he started calling us "Dissy and Dat") and we were basically the best baby sitters ever. We made pizza's and let him put as many sprinkles on his 2 scoops of ice cream as he wanted. We totally rock.

These pancakes are bomb.com. In fact, i'm seriously going to go make some right now. Its whole wheat pancake batter with flax seed (I know..sounds delicious, right? haha) but I added a cup of sweet blueberries and topped with a banana and I devoured every bite. So did Kaedyn. When he woke up at our house, he opened his eyes and said "Dissy I can't believe it! It's morning!" hahaha he kills me! And when I asked if he wanted chocolate pancakes or blueberry...he chose blueberry! Who knew!

Whats a weekend without booze? Enjoying our last bit of sunshine on Saturday with a delicious Stella on tap.

and as you probably saw on Instagram , even more booze ensued on Saturday night. This drink is MAJOR. Lately i'm obsessed with bourbon. This was mint, sweet tea bourbon, & lemonade and it made me feel like I was on vacation. That was until...

We woke up to 4 inches of snow and my hubby-to-be threatened divorce if we couldn't make it to our superbowl party. (we don't have cable so he would have missed the bronco smash down)

Good news though, we made it, and I ate enough Buffalo Chicken Dip to last me a year.

I'm hoping I can get a craft or two accomplished during this week of being locked inside...i'll keep you posted, promise!

Now off to make more of those pancakes!

xoxo
