What I wore this week

Happy Friday, ya'll! I LOVE Fridays! It's supposed to be so warm and beautiful this weekend too so I can't wait to spend the entire weekend in the lake.

I have a confession to make...i'm the worst selfie taker of all time. I have no patience to sit there and try a bunch of different poses till I get the right one. This week I took .4 seconds to snap a quick photo of what I was wearing before I went to work for the day...and as you can see, the week got progressively gloomy as it went on. Meaning my selfies were darker. SURE I could have found a spot in my house with a little more light, but that's what a professional selfie taker would do. And i'm just not at that level yet.

I thought i'd snap these pictures as a way for me to go back and remember outfits I really liked for work, and maybe inspire you to find some cute work clothes...on the cheap. Cause if there is one thing I can tell you about my wardrobe is...it's cheap. :)

Monday

tulle skirt
 Flannet- Target/Tutu-Ebay (really!)/Belt-F21

Tuesday

full skirt

vintage earrings
 Top- TJ Maxx/Skirt- F21/Earrings- F21

Wednesday (the gloom is starting)

leopard cardigan
 Sweater-Charlotte Russe/Skirt-Gap

Thursday

maxi dress with blazer
Dress- Sams Club (not even kidding!) Blazer-Gap

Friday

tropical dress
Dress- Flea Market.

I'm so bad at this fashion blogging business that I can't even give you legitimate sources for my clothes!
But I can't help but drool over the amazing ensembles put together by my beautiful friend, Kayla,  over at A Darling Dream. Maybe one day i'll measure up to her fashionable prowess ;)

Have an amazing weekend, friends! See you next week.

Until Next Time,

xo Kylie

Look for less #4- Pottery Barn Inspired Mirror for SIXTEEN bucks!

large mirror diy

Good morning you wonderful readers, you! I'm SO excited to be back for ANOTHER awesome Look for Less challenge, with some of my favorite L4L ladies. Remember the tray we made back in April? That was the easiest look for less of all time, and this one takes second place.

framed mirror

If you remember, I revealed my makeup storage last week, and as you can see, this mirror situation was a pretty pathetic. I knew I wanted to make a huge 22x28 mirror that I saw in a PB catalog ages ago, but I was not about to shell out $199.00 dollars for something I was going to look at myself in.

diy carved frame

Enter...look for less! This giant open frame was purchased at Hobby Lobby for 50% off! Making it only 15 dollars. But don't worry, if they aren't on sale, you can always grab a 40% off coupon for a fantastic discount. This mirror was the best find EVER! It was a whopping ONE dollar at my local dollar tree. Yes, you heard me, just ONE!

cheap mirror

Since these mirrors are so cheap, I just used a box cutter to score the back and rip the cardboard off.

exacto knife

My original plan was to remove the mirror from the frame, and use hot glue (you know...because all good crafts involve hot glue) to fit it perfectly inside the frame. But once I got to trying to remove the adhesive, I realized it would be WAY more difficult that anticipated. Enter: super good lookin' husband with a drill ;)

black and decker drill

Don't get me wrong, ladies, i'm perfectly capable of operating a drill and doing it myself, but someone had to take the pictures, and I just couldn't resist getting a picture of that wedding ring. Newlyweds, barf ;)

All we did was mark where the thickest part of the frame was, to ensure our screw didn't go through, and we screwed through the plastic into the wooden frame, securing the mirror perfectly.

makeup table

Pretty! No more gap! Now I have the best place to do my makeup and hair in the morning, it costs next to nothing to create. :)

Be sure to check out the other drool-worthy projects from my favorite bloggy friends!

2 Ingredient Puddin' Pops!

“This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Wet-Nap but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #showusyourmess  http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

Happy Monday, all! I can't believe how quick this summer is going by! Before we know it we will be preparing for the Holidays. Siiiggghhhh. (I may have picked up some discount Halloween decor this weekend...don't judge)

cookies and cream pops

In the meantime, however, it is H-O-T in Northwest Arkansas, and that means tasty frozen treats to cool down. These pudding pops are so easy a monkey could make them. (is there a video out there somewhere of a monkey cooking? I feel like that's a thing...)

jello pudding pops

All you need for these babies is some Instant pudding, milk, and of course your favorite Wet-Nap product (click HERE for .55 cents off Walmart's already low prices! **while supplies last) to clean sticky fingers AND messy counter tops.

jello pudding

Follow the package instructions to whip up your instant pudding. Don't forget to lick the whisk...that's important. ;)

instant pudding

We used good ol' chocolate fudge, and delicious cookies and cream.

wet nap

After mixin' up the pudding, you'll likely have some spills (or pudding all over your face if you're like me, and adult who eats like a child...ha!) I love Wet-Nap products because they're so affordable, and great for quick wiping down the counters, but even better for cleaning fingers and faces! So many times Antibacterial can dry out your skin, but Wet-Nap is formulated with aloe to keep your summer tan moisturized!

zoku

I broke out my frozen Zoku (if you don't have one of these, get one...pronto!) However, you can use any Popsicle mold you have on hand. Or Dixie cups!

zoku

Zoku works best if you put your sticks in first, so...that's what I did!

Transfer your pudding to a plastic bag, and snip the tip.

cookies and cream

Poor it into your pop maker (even if it's just dixie cups and popsicle sticks!)

wet-nap

Zoku works SUPER fast...7 minutes and your pops are frozen! While the froze, I cleaned up the sticky pudding from my fingers and counter top. The citrus scented wipes smell so good!

home made cookies and cream ice cream

I love the single serve wipes! Perfect to serve to little ones. I also throw 'em in my lunch box every day for easy clean up.

cookies and cream pops

The chocolate didn't even make it to pictures without a taste test. SO GOOD!

home made pudding pops

I'm telling you, you have to go out this week and make these! It's the easiest dessert ever, and so, so tasty. Don't forget to grab your favorite Wet-Nap product while you're out! I found them in the napkin/paper goods aisle at my favorite Walmart, and you know that meant it was the best price around. Don't forget to grab your .55 cents off coupon by clicking HERE! **while supplies last

What's your favorite summertime dessert? Have you started preparing for Fall like I have? Let me know!

Until Next Time,

Beachy Waves

beachy waves

Hi, beauties!

I don't know about you, but in the summer I am L-A-Z-Y when it comes to hair and makeup. The days are long, the tempertatures are high, and i've got about 0 patience to sit in front of the mirror doing my hair.

This is totally my go to and it's so easy a monkey could do it. If monkey's had long hair and salt spray. Be sure to check out the quick 5 minute video for a step by step.

Enjoy your lazy summer hair, my friends! Only a few more weeks until we actually have to try again. Boo!

Until Next Time,

xo Kylie

The best BBQ Sandwich of your life

Happy Monday, readers!

Wait. That's an oxymoron. Especially when it's the Monday after a long weekend. Hopefully this quick and easy meal makes up for it!

I made this BBQ chicken on the 4th of July to share, and completely forgot to take a picture of the finished project...so I had to pull a stock photo of  a BBQ sandwich. Just trust me, it looked something like the below ;)

crockpot bbq sandwich
 via

You will need:

  • One Medium Onion, cut into rings
  • Your Favorite BBQ Sauce
  • Protein! (We use Chicken, Pork is great too)
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Salt/Pepper/Red Pepper Flakes
  • Brown Sugar

bbq sandwich

Start by slicing your onion into rings, and layer in the bottom of a crockpot. (Don't forget to save these after, they make a delicious topping to the sandwich!)

chicken maranade

Season your chicken with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, and then layer on top of the onions. (Dear Lord almighty raw chicken is disgusting)

jack daniels bbq sauce

best bbq sauce

In a small bowl, mix together 1  cup of BBQ sauce, 1/4th cup water, 3 table spoons apple cider vinegar, and 1/2 cup brown sugar, and poor on top of the chicken/onions.

Cook on high 5-6 hours, or low 6-8

shredded chicken

After your chicken is cooked, drain all but 1 cup of the liquid, and shred your protein with 2 forks. Return to the crockpot, add extra BBQ sauce, and make that delicious sandwich, baby!

This is one of my favorite quick crockpot meals, and it is SO good! Let me know if you give it a try for your next family cookout ;)

Until Next Time,

xo Kylie
